The Federal Government has announced the launch of this initiative for the summer of 2021. The initiative is through CMHC and the proposal is to help homeowners upgrade outdated or low efficiency systems up to $40,000. Some examples include upgrading mechanical heat sources, insulation, water heaters, on site renewable energy and windows and doors.
CMHC is offering a program to provide partial refunds, up to 25% to the cost of the mortgage loan insurance for a home that achieves the modelled energy goal.
This program is offered by the City Of Ottawa and offers residents an opportunity to receive a low-interest loan of up to 10% of the current value of their home to cover the costs of energy upgrades.
The City Of Ottawa has announced this initiative to provide eligible residents a customized home assessment to improve rainwater management on their property. The proposal offers rebates up to $5000 to upgrade or implement proven rainwater management practices.
